“The important thing is that you find a way to keep up with your workouts and don’t let travel get in the way. ”

Podcast Synopsis

Something you can do while traveling is you can drop in on a crossfit gym. There is some etiquette involved in a drop in. First you want to do some research about the gym and where is it located. I will look for some kind of email address or phone number and I will try to contact them about wanting to drop in on their gym. It is certainly worth asking if it is ok that you drop in and letting them vet you a little bit too. Give them an opportunity to get to know you and see how experienced you are with crossfit.

The next thing you need to do is get there plenty early. If you are going to be at the 6am class, then you should be there around 5:30 to survey the area and maybe fill out paper work. Make sure you introduce yourself and get to know the people and the gym before the workout starts.

It’s common, in my experience, that it will cost you $10-$20 for a drop in workout, or maybe they will ask you to buy a t-shirt. But regardless, it is an awesome way to experience some different ideas about fitness and keep your routine of working out.

This will work for Orange Theory, other gyms, and of course crosssfit gyms. The important thing is that you find a way to keep up with your workouts and don’t let travel get in the way.

See you on the water,

Tom Rowland
