Podcast Synopsis
Advantages of the Blood Knot: it is strong, compact, and works with dissimilar diameters. However, the disadvantages are that the tag ends at a right angle. If not trimmed close, it can catch on the rod guides.
Here is how to tie:
Make an 'x’ with the 2 lines
Pinch at the ‘x’
Turn the tag end around the standing line 4-5 times
Put the tag through the ‘x’
Pinch
Turn tag end 4-5 times around
Put tag end though the gap the opposite way as the other tag end
Moisten, tighten and trim
