With over 400 episodes, you may find it difficult to find the episodes you are looking for. If you are interested in learning the stories about how each of these fishing television legends got it started and kept it going, here are the top episodes from the Top Fishing Television Personalities.
Blair Wiggins "The Mogan Man"
I've always been a fan of Blair, "The Mogan Man" who came out with the Addictive Fishing TV Show. He also has done a lot to incorporate the community into what he does, but now he is taking action to help the environment. Blair is using a natural filter, the clam, to help improve water quality. This was a fantastic podcast and I hope you enjoy learning more about Blair, The Mogan Man.
Roland Martin - Success In Fishing And Making His Parents Proud
Tom Rowland sits down with Roland Martin to discuss his successful fishing career and his story of where he came from. Roland talks about his history of losing his parents at a young age and how he recuperated from the tragedy. Roland Martin is a name synonymous with Bass Fishing, and he does not disappoint. I got to know Roland on a trip that I was doing at Bass Pro Shops. I found myself traveling with him for 3 days.
Peter Miller - Uncharted Waters
Peter Miller has done lots of stuff, you may know him from his TV show Bass2Billfish and now started Uncharted Waters with Peter Miller. In addition to that, Peter is also the 3 time World Sailfish Champion with his team The GetLit. Before that he was a male model. He is the only person I know who came to the ranks of a professional fisherman through being a male model. That is an interesting path so we definitely talked about that, as well we discussed his work ethic and how he got to where he is today.
CA Richardson - Flats Class, Teaching, Family And Passion
CA Richardson is a professional angler who has been the host of a television show, Flats Class, for over 10 years. As a masterful teacher, CA has expanded his influence on South Florida anglers by collaborating with Salt Strong to offer online courses in various subjects. Tom Rowland and CA first became acquainted through the early days of the professional redfish tournaments. They fished against on another in the ESPN Redfish Cup and the IFA Redfish Tours.
George Poveromo - 20 Years of TV Shows, Seminars and Educating Anglers
This week I had the chance to sit down with the Legendary George Poveromo. George has been on television for 20 years now, hosting “George Poveromo’s World of Saltwater Fishing” which now airs on The Discovery Channel.George and I have a lot in common from the Television world, and he has some crazy stories. He shared one which was nearly his last. While fishing with Capt Nick Stanzyk, he was pulled in by a swordfish and thought he was going to lose his life. We share some other great stories including how he and his father used to go to the Marquesas Keys when he was just a kid and many more in this podcast, so be sure to listen all the way through to hear everything we talk about! If you are a fan of George, share this podcast with someone you watched his shows with. Tag us both on Instagram and let him know you listened.
Bill Dance - America's Favorite Angler
Bill Dance is the fishing legend. The first time I met Bill Dance he was unbelievably nice and helpful. Every time I see him he rushes over and gives me a giant bear hug and asks about everything, "Where's the Toot?" (Asking about my partner). He is a shining example of a high quality individual and it is no wonder why he has been so successful.
Shaw Grigsby - Mentor, Pro Bass Fisherman, Coach, And All Around Great Guy
This podcast has been a long time coming, as Shaw has been on my list since the inception of this show. He has been an incredible helper and coach in my life. My first television exposure was due to Shaw Grigsby and he really brought me into the industry. After a few years, we decided to launch a show and Shaw was incredibly encouraging and even let us borrow his crew. He really cut the learning curve a lot and I've been forever grateful for that.
After so many years Shaw has maintained that same level of teaching and encouragement with me and so many other people. He's truly and all-around great guy, I hope you enjoy this show with my long time friend, Shaw Grigsby.
Carter Andrews - Obsessed
Today's show is with one of my old friends; Carter and I both grew up in Tennessee and we both started guiding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming as trout guides. From there we intersected in tournaments both against and with each other, in tournaments such as the ESPN Great Outdoor Games, the Madfin Series and more. Now our lives are crossing again in the Television world. Carter is the host of "The Obsession Of Carter Andrews" which inspired "Legendary Catch" by National Geographic.
Capt's Scott Walker And Steve Rodger - Into The Blue
Great podcast here! I got to sit down with the hosts of Into The Blue television, Scott Walker and Steve Rodgers. It was hard for me to get around to do this podcast but we found some time and got it done. We also got to have Jake Perry, who does our underwater filming, sit down with us and tell us about a swordfish that attacked him. If you know anything about swordfish, you know that they are no joke and Jake was very fortunate to come out of that situation unscathed.
Mike Iaconelli - Bassmaster Classic Champion
A current professional in bass fishing, though at one point Mike considered giving it all up. Having filled out the paperwork to go teach for Rowan University - Mike considered one last fishing tournament to "go out with a bang" from his fishing career. This "last tournament" ended up being a turning point for Mike's life.
Jimmy Houston - 43 Years Of Television
Jimmy Houston is a true icon of fishing. He has been on the air for 43 years which makes him a true icon of the television world as well. I talk to him about how it all started and go through the ups and downs of the business over all those years. Recently, Jimmy has embraced YouTube and social media so we also discuss where fishing entertainment is going. Thank you to Jimmy for his time. It was an honor to talk to him.
