I sat down with Heath Daughtry to talk about the Florida Skiff Challenge while back on the podcast (listen below). This event is no joke - you get in a Skiff (18ft or less boat) with a 70 horse-power or less motor. You take that boat around Key West and end in Cabin Bluff, GA. This event is 1,600 miles and you go for 48 hours nonstop. You don’t sleep.

Jordan outlasted everyone by making it 77 days. He killed a Moose with a bow on the show as well as catching many fish. He battled wolverines and the cold to make it to the end.
Read MoreHunter Bland was a college bass fisherman who has recently moved on to become a Bass Fishing Coach. We learned a little about Hunter a few weeks ago when he was on the podcast with the whole Florida Gateway College team but today we dive deep into his personal story. Hunter achieved some notoriety, but not in the most desirable way. He was ejected out of his boat due to a freak accident and he was lucky enough to not get run over by any boats during the start of a Bass Tournament. He was wearing his lifejacket so he made it out ok. Hunter is now using that experience to travel around to speak and educate people on water safety.

This year has been a real game-changer because Power Pole came out with a new charger that charges on the go and I have switched to Lithium Pro Batteries. Read MoreThis podcast has been a long time coming, as Shaw has been on my list since the inception of this show. He has been an incredible helper and coach in my life. My first television exposure was due to Shaw Grigsby and he really brought me into the industry. After a few years, we decided to launch a show and Shaw was incredibly encouraging and even let us borrow his crew. He really cut the learning curve a lot and I've been forever grateful for that.

I put it on the list and then quickly read that one and 2 more. Since reading his books, they have become the most gifted books of the year. I gave them to my children, friends and people I work with. Each of the recipients have as impressed with them as I was.
We also had some other interests in common. Joshua recently returned from an Inner Mountain Expeditions in Norway to learn more about the Wim Hof Method and much more.
Read MoreI have followed Mark Quartiano who is better known as Mark The Shark for a couple of years. To say that Mark is controversial is an understatement. Mark seems to relish the role as the bad boy of Sportfishing and referred to himself as the Darth Vader of Sportfishing. This was interesting to me because he also seems to have a lot of contrary opinions and actions to being the badboy. For example, Mark has no problem killing big sharks and posting the pictures on Instagram, however after talking to him for a while I also learned that he has tagged and released more sharks than anyone in the world. Many of the sharks are sent to biologists or delivered to the local homeless shelter.
