How 2 Tuesday - Three Tag Knot Tie it! Test it! - Episode #794

Welcome to this week's How 2 Tuesday! I was introduced to the Three Tag Knot at ICAST this year by the one and only Jamey Caldwell! You might notice how similar this is to last week's H2T, the San Diego Jam Knot!

Not only will we teach you the knot-tying technique, but we'll also put it to the test! Witness the results as we gauge the knot's strength and breaking point using the Daiwa J. Fluoro 15lb fluorocarbon. While we often assume we know the strength of the knots we use, without proper testing, we can't be sure! The Three Tag Knot performed well, but how does that performance compare to your beliefs before the test? How does this knot's strength compare to the other knots that you use?

Physical Friday - Mindset of a Champion part 5 - Episode #793

How do the champions manage their diets? What do you need to eat to achieve your goals? It is crucial for athletes to avoid undereating as it provides the necessary fuel and nutrients to support their training, optimize performance, and promote muscle recovery. Insufficient calorie intake can lead to decreased energy levels, impaired recovery, compromised immune function, and hindered overall athletic progress.

Jason Grubb, a three-time Masters CrossFit Games champion, shares his nutrition and training routine. Weighing in at 203 lbs, Jason consumes 3400 calories per day to fuel his performance.

He starts with his signature bulletproof coffee, a blend of half-caf @BlackRifleCoffee, butter, MCT powder, creatine, and cinnamon.

For breakfast, Jason eats eight egg whites and two full eggs, scrambled, along with two cups of white rice. He also includes in-season fruits for a high carbohydrate intake.

Lunch consists of either chicken and rice or zero-fat high-protein yogurt and bananas.

After intense workouts, dinner includes a pound of ground beef or fish/chicken. The ground beef is made into four hamburger patties, served with cheesy rice.

To meet his caloric needs, Jason occasionally has another meal after dinner or indulges in a small bowl of ice cream.

You can follow Jason's journey as he aims to become a four-time champion on Instagram: @jasongrubb_fitness.

How 2 Tuesday - The San Diego Jam Knot: Tie it! Test it! - Episode #791

This week, I tied and tested the San Diego Jam Knot.

The San Diego Jam Knot is a reliable and straightforward knot used by many different anglers, saltwater and freshwater.

To tie it, start by passing the tag end of your line through the eye of the hook or lure and then double it back. Create a loop by twisting the doubled line seven times, ensuring that the loop is larger than the hook's eye. Next, pass the tag end through the loop you created, making sure it goes behind the doubled line. Moisten the knot, hold the tag end, and carefully tighten the knot by pulling the mainline and the tag end simultaneously. Once tight, trim the excess tag end.

The San Diego Jam Knot is known for its strength and reliability, making it a popular choice among anglers for various fishing applications. As you know, we have to test it!
