Robert “RT” Trosset is a legendary Sportfishing Captain out of Key West, FL. RT has 240 World Records and endless fishing accolades and has been inducted into the IGFA Hall Of Fame. His 2 boys, Chris and Robert Jr are following in his footsteps doing great things in both fishing and diving. All 3 Trosset’s sat down with me to discuss growing up in Key West, deciding to be a guide and how the business has changed since RT started. We talk about COVID-19 effects on the guides and tourism, many funny stories are recalled and lots of information is exchanged. We learned a little about Hunter a few weeks ago when he was on the podcast with the whole Florida Gateway College team but today we dive deep into his personal story. Hunter achieved some notoriety, but not in the most desirable way. He was ejected out of his boat due to a freak accident and he was lucky enough to not get run over by any boats during the start of a Bass Tournament. He was wearing his lifejacket so he made it out ok. Hunter is now using that experience to travel around to speak and educate people on water safety.
